Unit Goals:
- To understand the influence of Enlightenment ideals on the outbreak of the French Revolution.
- To understand the political, economic and social climate of France in the years prior to 1789 and how that led to the Revolution.
- To understand who the leaders of the Revolution were and their varied demands.
- To learn the phases of the Revolution and the many different directions it took.
- To understand the failures of the Revolution and why that made France vulnerable to a takeover by an authoritarian leader like Napoleon.
